Pool viewA third-generation Ribatejo family project. The owner’s grandfather was a cobbler in this same countryside; this is the return.
An old village house in Marmeleira, restored from the ground up. Four bedrooms, a solar-heated private pool, and a courtyard that opens onto the cobblestones. Set up for one large family, two families together, or a remote-work month.
Long-standing — older than anyone in the village remembers. We’re keeping the character of the original walls and the terracotta roof, and adding everything modern life needs: underfloor heating, triple glazing, A+ energy, fast internet. Project phase — opens Summer 2027.
The owner’s grandfather was a cobbler in Portugal. He shaped shoes by hand every day of his working life in the Ribatejo countryside — not far from this house. He crossed an ocean to Canada, built a life, and at sixty-five came back. Not to start over. To come home.
Casa do Nada carries that arc. The name means “house of nothing” — not emptiness, but intention. A place stripped of distraction. A week here where the most complicated decision is whether to eat lunch by the pool or linger over a second glass of wine at dinner.

“The house has stood on a corner of Marmeleira for longer than anyone in the village remembers. We’re not building something new — we’re restoring what’s already there.”
